End of Life.

I guess this is it. I was going to extend HIOS Life, but it seems that my latest HIOS Life V idea has evolved and become something else. Such is the way of creative flow sometimes.
Check back later for the new manga, entitled Enpitsu No Yume!
New HIOS Life Promo.

Things have been busy for us the past few months. As a result, the site was neglected for a while – but now we’re back on track. First order of business – HIOS Life. It looks as though HIOS Life has had its last run. Soon, it will be over for the online manga, and New HIOS Life will take its place. Before HIOS Life is wrapped up, we’ve left a teaser for New HIOS Life as the latest “page”.
What you’ll notice right away is the poor art style. The reason for this is simple – we’ve moved on to tablet-based CG for the manga. Instead of doing it on paper and scanning/retouching, we’ve decided to skip the first two steps to make the digital process easier. However, tablet use requires a slight learning curve, as well as new hand-eye coordination methods. This should improve over the next few months as it’s used frequently in making various artwork for the site and for MugenHAN.com.

There will soon be some changes to HIOS Life in the future. If you haven’t kept up to date with my personal homepage, here is the 411:
- All pages will be a full standard page instead of half.
- The first few pages will be redrawn and retouched to reflect this change.
- All pages will now be tachikiri (drawn to the edge of the page).
- Way more characters and plot twists, of course!
Storyboard layouts will now be drawn prior to the actual page, to improve on the storyline more. This may cause a slight delay between pages, but nobody should notice since it takes months to put one out anyway. Hahaha, just kidding. Hopefully, I can set up a schedule that will allow me to get the pages done in a timely manner. I get rather lazy after a full day of work at two jobs. One good thing is coming out of watching lots of anime, though – I’m studying how to draw better as I watch. So… hope to see some improvement! ^_^

To satiate your appetite for web manga, HIOS Life is back up and running! That’s right, after a much needed break, we’ve decided to continue production of HIOS Life, but with a new purpose – to see just how off-track the storyline can go without interruption. After a barrage of new inspiration, new surprises will await the HIOS Life cast! As you can see, a new character has already been added to the roster – which is quite fitting.
Welcome back, HIOS Life!
My Homemade Survey PLUG

Wouldn’t it be funny if I wasn’t? Well, the survey is now accessible through MugenHAN.com, which just went up this morning. If you don’t know what HIOS Life is, go here! Have fun!
EDIT: Unfortunately, the survey doesn’t exist anymore, since the move to Blogger. As a result, all the possible results are posted below.

If you’ve been keeping up-to-date on my personal blog, then you’ll know the plans for the demise of HIOS Life. For all the newcomers, I wanted to end it prematurely due to a change in art style and a lack of plotlines. As individuals, we leave many things unfinished, but I decided to give a summarized ending instead of just killing it abruptly. However, don’t fret, because we’re not out of the online manga race yet! We have plans for a new web manga, which is untitled at the moment. The premise will be similar to a non-hentai bishoujo game in manga form, and will take place in a high school in Japan. There are more plans for the series, but you’ll have to visit my personal blog to keep yourself updated as I reveal more and more about the series, including character sketches and other related designs. Good-bye, HIOS Life. It was a fun life while it lasted.

And it may be his last. In this week’s page of HIOS Life, Hidetoshi finally makes his feelings known to Nina. In an unorthodox way, of course. Enjoy the latest page of HIOS Life!
Note: This page was actually drawn before the summer ended, and was just darkened and scanned today. Next week, there will be a whole new drawing style that will take over the original designs. Don’t worry, all the characters will be reintroduced, just in case you don’t recognize them.

To those of you who visited HIOS.org in the past just to read HIOS Life, here is your chance! The next page of HIOS Life has been posted, and will be posted every Friday. Thank you all for your patience!
HIOS Life is getting closer to the end of this chapter. The next chapter will introduce some new characters and new concepts in the way the manga will be presented. The normal 4-panel manga style will be retained, but the actual art style will be changed to suit my new drawing habits. You will start to see a lot more SD and chibi art in the manga, as well as a new story arc. Even now, you will notice the frequent use of meticulously sized fonts and inset boxes. Some cleanup of the grey background will be done in the future as well, so that the usual white background will be attained. There is a chance that this grey background could be the cause of the scanner or the paper I’m currently drawing on. Either way, the manga will be more refined. I may even add color – but the manga would only be posted bi-weekly rather than weekly. I’m currently debating some of the new changes, but they won’t take place until the end of the chapter. Visit back next Friday for more details and for the next page of HIOS Life!

I’ve changed the schedule of the Online Manga (sorry about that as well) to just weekly. That way, if I can finish more than one in a week, you won’t be disappointed with the /dev/zero I’m turning out right now. I really hate missing sessions, but I just recently suffered a writer’s/artist’s block (no thanks to my depressive mood this week), so I really couldn’t write or draw anything worth crap. Oh, well. At least today’s Online Manga is actually up according to schedule this time.
