The one with the highly convincing Edmonton lure.

So, Daniel and I chatted in Google Talk for a bit on Friday. He’s living in Edmonton with Armand and they are doing awesome at the moment. He wants me to come out to Edmonton, since there’s an abundance of contract work out there. The pay is high, but the cost of living is high. There are many factors to consider before I can even think of such a thing. First of all, I still have my loans to pay off. It may not seem like it, but with all the bills I have, I’ll barely be able to scrape by living there. I hate to admit it, but I’m living quite comfortably here, and if my Preorders page isn’t giving off enough of a hint, I have enough money to buy things I like from Japan in mass quantities.

I love Winnipeg. Large cities kind of scare me even though I love them. It took me a while to get used to Winnipeg, but eventually, I did, and it’s been a great stepping stone for me. I’m not saying I won’t like Edmonton, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it if I moved there.

The majority of my family and friends are in Manitoba. I find it hard to wrap my head around leaving it all behind. Maybe I’m just getting old, but I don’t want to move unless I absolutely know that I want to. For sure, I hate living in my town, and I want to leave as soon as I can, but I have to be realistic. I’d be giving up a lot of things if I did so. At the same time, I’d be gaining lots of things too.

There’s definitely a lot to think about, but I think that I should take small steps with this. I have to kill my bills first before I think of anything else. I love the concept of leaving, but I love buying Japanese media even more. Hobbies are more important than location, after all.

The one with all the Lesson Reviews.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with this blog ever since I started using Hummingbird last fall. So, I decided to try an idea of mine called Lesson Reviews. Essentially, it’s more of a “what I learned from X anime” than a review, but the thing is, there will be good and […]
