The one with the site rebuild.

As I mentioned in my previous entry, I’m currently rebuilding my site. First of all, my blog is going to be separate from my main site, which is going to be a guide and news site for notable anime and game merchandise. In other words, if there’s a cool anime figure, game soundtrack, or drama CD, I’ll give an extensive preview and/or review, including pictures, sound clips, video clips, and even a link to buy it from select vendors. Mind you, some of my tastes are either series or character oriented, so expect a bit of bias, but if you like my tastes (see my Preorders page), then this new site might be for you.

Anyway, I’m going with the Drupal CMS web application for my new site, and so far, it’s been a pain in the butt. I’ve found that for pretty much every CMS I’ve dealt with, each experience was a bumpy road. My first foray into CMS land was with PHP-Nuke, which was not bad, but it was quite rushed too, and the site promptly went down after a month anyway (it was a World Of WarCraft guild site). The next one was the prototype for this upcoming site, which was to be on XOOPS. It never even saw the light of day. Now, with Drupal, I’m getting used to the new terminology and structure. The words, ‘CMS’ and ‘easy’, should never be in the same sentence together.

So, anyway, an update – the site is still underway, but under heavy construction. I haven’t even added any content yet. Eventually, things should start looking up. However, my original projection of two weeks was a little too unrealistic, what with my new work schedules. I mean, working pretty much every day from 8:00 to 21:00 doesn’t leave much room for web stuff. I can sometimes squeeze it in at my primary job, but not as often as I used to when it was summer. So, things will continue as normal and I’ll keep this blog updated until I pull that switch to turn things on. When that happens, you’ll visit MugenHAN.com as usual and finally find out what I’ve been up to all this time.

The one with all the Lesson Reviews.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with this blog ever since I started using Hummingbird last fall. So, I decided to try an idea of mine called Lesson Reviews. Essentially, it’s more of a “what I learned from X anime” than a review, but the thing is, there will be good and […]
