ちくしょ, Not Again!

Well, once again, I got nothing done this week. Well, I did a lot more than last week. First off, I managed to draw one eye, which will be integrated into all my future works. I tried to draw a new character, but I messed up and erased it all. It’s been a bad week for drawing. However, I managed to draw a grease-trap – a container which holds all the most disgusting crap that you pour down the drain of a sink. My parents only clean it out once a month, but after getting a good whiff of that stench that wafted out after we opened it, I think they should be cleaning it everyday to get rid of the smell. Mind you, it’s not the best job in the world. The stuff that comes out of it looks like dead tapeworms swimming in stew, and it smells like burning rubber on asphalt with a strong twist of rotted lemon. Ugh. I almost got sick from the smell. Anyway, after that ordeal, I think that I’ll go easy on りょすけ at the restaurant. After all, we don’t want to see the main character cleaning a grease-trap for several pages. No thanks.

What else did I accomplish? Nothing, really. I unlocked a few more girls in ときめき Check in!, but I still have two more left to go. Not only that, but I finally unlocked the good and best endings of Elise in Critical Point. I also finished reading the last chapter of Ill Met by Starlight, a psychological-thriller Ranma fanfict. What a gruesome ending. Anyway, I received my two Japanese PS2 games in the mail – Kingdom Hearts and おにむしゃ2! They’re both awesome games! Now, all I need to do is learn more Japanese so that I can read the kanji. But, I’m doing okay so far with the hiragana. I’m just not reading it fast enough, though. I found that it’s gonna cost $1000 for a round-trip ticket to Japan from Vancouver, so I’ll be able to make enough for a trip to Japan next year. I’ll probably only stay there for a week, though. It’ll be fun. 秀俊弟 (Hidetoshi-otouto) and Ruth might tag along. I hope! (Crosses fingers.)
Also, my two 浜崎あゆみ CDs are on the way, as well as two anime DVDs I ordered last year! Whoa, talk about a major backorder. I hope that they actually got it.

I might not be able to update the JGirlz page on time this week, but we’ll see what happens. I wish I had a Shirt Guy Dom or a Lazy Heihachi day like on MegaTokyo. These guys have been a major inspiration to me. When I was in high school, I wanted to do this sort of thing with a group of friends, kinda like GAINAX, CLAMP, or Ghibli. However, I didn’t want to go through publishers and stuff like that, and such a venture didn’t even seem possible at the time because I only had two people interested (my ex-girlfriend and 秀俊), and a handful of other high school buddies giving moral support. Five years later, the internet has become the de facto standard of media publishing, and at low costs too. You could have your site and works hosted for free (CrapCities or AngelCrap) or you could pay a small fee for no advertising (thank you, Ace of Space). That dream of mine was far away, but now, I see people like Piro and Largo, or Tom_Swan and Kittyhawk making the dream possible. Well, due to my non-optimism, I slacked in my drawing and writing, so you’ll forgive me if I’m a bit lazy sometimes. I want to accomplish things, but sitting in front of my computer makes me think, “Ehh, I feel like surfing,” or, “Ehh, I feel like doing something else.” Nowadays, I reprimand myself for thinking such things, or I regret what I did after I’ve done it. I think I’m slowly improving. Sooner or later, I’m going to start taking action and stop doing things that take up my time. LIKE WORK! No, just kidding. But, I will finally stop surfing for more pics of JGirls to add to my growing collection. I’ll stop playing dating sims and start making them. I’ll start accomplishing what I’ve wanted to accomplish so long ago! I’m going to do it! いくぜ!!
Either that, or I’ll just make legitimate excuses, like, “I’ll play some more Kanon so that I can inspire myself some more.” Hehehe. Yeah, right. Inspiration is useless if you don’t put it to use.

Oh, and by the way, I finally got sick of typing Unicode escape codes. I finally changed the website to Shift-JIS support! Muahahaha! Okay, I’m done. Well, time to get ready for work. じゃね!

The one with all the Lesson Reviews.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with this blog ever since I started using Hummingbird last fall. So, I decided to try an idea of mine called Lesson Reviews. Essentially, it’s more of a “what I learned from X anime” than a review, but the thing is, there will be good and […]
