Aoi is the most stable PC I have right now. Laptops are just good like that. However, I’ve been talking about upgrading, and I finally did it. Today, I ordered the Dell Inspiron 9300 I had mentioned before, customized to fit my own needs. So, what did I end up with then? Here we go:
Intel Pentium M 740 2 GB of DDR2 RAM 128 MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300 100 GB HDD WinXP Pro 8x CD/DVD+/-RW DL Drive Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 Dell Bluetooth 17″ UltraSharp WSXGA+ Display
There are USB 2.0 ports, Firewire, and DVI. I also got a blue QuickSnap cover, a spare AC adaptor, a large backpack, a free 512 MB USB key, a Targus Defcon 1 audible lock, and 3 years of their biggest and baddest warranty. With taxes, I spent about $4800. I would have went with the XPS M170, but it was $1500 more, and I’m not interested in hardcore gaming with a laptop (or a PC box, for that matter). I know, everybody is probably wondering, “WHY DELL?!?!”
Don’t get me wrong. I hate Dell as a company because of their proprietary sales and service methods, rude helpdesk, and ridiculous red tape just to get to somebody who knows what they’re talking about. However, I went with Dell because their laptops are top-rated, especially for the price (when compared to Alienware… brrr). Not only that, but I went with the best warranty they had to offer when I can perfectly fix any hardware problem myself by buying the part on eBay for cheap and ripping the laptop apart, thanks to my mad laptop skills. However, I’m a peace of mind kinda guy, and since they have it offered, if I happen to blow the hard drive, the system board, or the LCD, those three parts alone just made the warranty worth it. They can just send me the part minus the tech, and I can fix it myself. w00t for me.
I already have two people interested in my old laptop. I’ll probably sell it for $500 with extra battery and 11b wireless card. That’ll pay off my VISA and let me go on a manga shopping spree. Muahahahaha.
Current Music: Tommy february6 – HEY BAD BOY
I hope my Tommy airline CD comes in. I’m itching for it, so for now, I’m listening to the first album.
Hey! Looking to sell your current laptop, hm? If you can’t find a buyer, I may be able to take it off your hands in a couple of months. Just need to save up the money, depending on what you’re asking for it. We could talk about that.
