New Tablet Drawing!

Yeah! I pumped out a new drawing tonight! Mind you, I procrastinated until 9:30 PM tonight to do it, but it was so worth it. I’m actually proud of it. There are a few tidbits and crap – like uneven eyes, uneven shoulders – but who cares? This is awesome for somebody who doesn’t use guidelines, you know? Besides, I’m well past the guidelines stage at this point. My guesswork has made better drawings than guidelines, so I won’t be using them anymore. Well… we’ll see. Well, I put the picture on my website, so you can see it there in the Artwork section, which has a nice description of it, or you can click the thumbnail below.

The one with all the Lesson Reviews.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with this blog ever since I started using Hummingbird last fall. So, I decided to try an idea of mine called Lesson Reviews. Essentially, it’s more of a “what I learned from X anime” than a review, but the thing is, there will be good and […]

  1. Your drawings are improving! Good stuff!

*sighs dreamily* I want a WACOM tablet too…. *sniff* Or a semi-good tablet at least. I want to start drawing again.

My comic: My So Called Strife, won’t draw itself!

  2. And are you sure about the USB cable at Radio Shack? We took a look there, but Ian was told that only Fuji make the cable and he had to get it from there?

  3. In any RadioShack – look for something that each store has in excess called “Jam Studio”. It is the poorest piece of crap you will ever lay eyes on, but the cool thing is, it’s cheap and it works! Mind you, once you get it, there is basically no support because the company that made it went down under. So, to quote SaveKaryn.com, “By buying this instead of the expensive brand, I saved $120.”

  4. Well, it depends on which salesman you get – the moron or the guy who actually knows what he’s doing.

  5. Okay, I’m at work right now and I checked on the cable. Apparently, Fuji went and changed all their USB connectors to a proprietary end in their late 2003 models, so if you have an older model camera that is either the A20X series or predates it, then go to RadioShack and ask for this SKU number: 26-195. It’s $19.99 and Grant Park has 2 in stock as of this writing. Alternatively, Polo Park and Portage Place both have 2. Otherwise, you’ll probably end up going to the Fuji stores. But, shop around and look for one that is as close to $20 as possible.

Oh, and hey, let me know how it works out. If you end up getting the RadioShack cable, tell the store that Ian went to that they’re idiots and you had to get help from Thompson’s RadioShack. In their face! In their face!! ^_^

  6. Hmm..are you positive?

I guess a guy at Computer Boulevard told Ian he had the same model and had to order the cable from Fuji to replace it…

  7. *le sigh* I don’t have even $120 for a tablet right now. I guess paper and pencil for me right now.

*gah* I hate save Karyn. Get a job. Boo. There’s enough bums in Winnipeg… bad enough. Don’t need internet beggars/bums too now.

  8. That’s because… umm… computer techs… don’t know what they’re talking about… yeah… TPS reports…

  9. No, no, I only SAVED $120. The Jam Studio only costs $40.

I can’t really hate Karyn – she actually succeeded where I failed. She was in the same spot as I am right now, so I can sympathize. The only difference is that she actually found a way to get more money on top of working, and it’s not like she didn’t have a job, she was also actively updating her website on a daily basis and selling stuff on eBay, which is a lot more work than it’s worth. Heck, I can’t even update my LIVEJOURNAL on a daily basis. XD

    I can still envy her.
