Sayonara, HIOS.org!

HIOS.org is shutting down. I made this decision shortly after signing up for FictionPress.com. All my writing will be going there from now on. I hope I can get more exposure there. Not only that, but I’ve been recently getting inspiration for writing my novel project, codenamed, “Wild And Tame”. I had finished writing one chapter a few months ago, and now I’m almost finished the third chapter. I estimate a planned 26 chapters (almost like a standard anime series). I posted the first chapter on LJ, but it has been edited since then.

I don’t really regret making the decision to close HIOS.org, but I am going to miss it. However, don’t count me out of the game yet. My dream is still strong, but I need to build up my skills – my writing and drawing have gotten lax. I recently bought a tablet this summer and I haven’t done much with it since I bought it. I really hope to get better at tablet drawing – but hoping does not make it come true, as I will soon be finding a way to squeeze drawing in every night.
I’m slowly trying to cut down on a lot of things – my downloading has gotten far out of hand, but I do get a chance to watch and hear more Japanese media than ever before. Eventually, though, I’m gonna have to stop. My hard drive is only so big and my DVD writer will die soon enough. Plus, going through all this media, cataloguing it, and then burning it is taking up a lot of my time. I’m trying to get Japanese TV so I can just watch it as it comes. I will have to do things the old-fashioned way – buying, which will allow me to limit myself, since I only have so much money.

Anyway, I’m digressing. The point is, HIOS.org may be gone, but that doesn’t mean something else won’t happen. I just have to be hard-working and dedicate myself to my writing and drawing like I have been to my downloading habits. HIOS.org started on the right foot… it just ended up on the wrong foot over time.

Thanks to those who actually enjoyed what I did on HIOS.org… it’s too bad it never got off the ground. Someday, though, I promise.

The one with all the Lesson Reviews.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with this blog ever since I started using Hummingbird last fall. So, I decided to try an idea of mine called Lesson Reviews. Essentially, it’s more of a “what I learned from X anime” than a review, but the thing is, there will be good and […]
